Matti just arrived in Manhattan, NYC, after spending a restless night in some airport hotel in a place from which one cannot even get a taxi, not to speak of walking.

Matti finds NYC way too hot. Sweaty place. Inside shops, cafes it is surely +25C. Too hot even in summer clothes. Outside +4C, with summer clothes very refreshing. It would be trivial for the USA to cut down energy consumption by 50%, even without any effect on comfort or quality of life.

Matti visited a secret bar with Fernando. Excellent drinks. Also tried to get in another, but it was full. To get to the other one: one must enter a phonebooth in a hot dog place, pick up the receiver, place a call and with luck a door opens. We had luck: the door opened when I was leaning at it, but the secret bar was full. In a large city, even secrets are known by many.
