An easy ride
Our friend Anna sent us an invitation to an "easy ride" on Tuesday. After all riding in Girona Gran Fondo and Monday's ride with Zak Dempster plus an race effort on Els Angels, an easy ride seemed like a good idea.
So, we had breakfast in El Cafe, one on Girona's simple, but good, traditional cafeterias. Filled baguettes and lots of coffee, and were ready for the ride at 9.30 am at Bike Breaks. The others (Sergi, Paolo, Anna, Nancy, Joseph) arrive and we agreed to ride to Tossa de Mar and back.
Well, easy in Girona would be hard in Helsinki. This time the ride was 95km, with some 1200 meters of climbing. The route of the first 65km is telling. I had serious difficulties on the ride back in the not-so-hard uphill. It was just too warm for me, I just could not produce any power in the burning sunshine. Luckily, some clouds appeared, and I made it up the hill.
The ride back from Llagostera to Girona was easier. It is almost flat and I was able to pull. I was so happy to be able to do some work.
Back in Girona, we had a few beers in B-12 and said goodbyes. It will not be long before I will be back in Girona.
