Kunnon unet Strasbourgissa
20.1.2026, tiistai · Strasbourg
Nukuin oikein mainiosti, näin unia kavereista kuten aina matkoilla. Kaverit olivat kummallisen nuoria ja reippaita. Heräsin hetkeksi klo 5, sitten nukuin vielä pari tuntia. Eli ihan kunnon unet.
Tänään täällä on lämpötila nollassa, en siis voi ihan hurjan paljon pitkiä kävelyitä, mutta vähän eli 10000 askelta kuitenkin. Kohta aamiaiselle naapurikahvilaan lukemaan kirjaa, nyt on 9, soitin jo S:lle, hän menossa kuulotutkimukseen. Soittaa sitten.
Nähtävyyksistä ainakin Petit France, EU, ja katedraali.
Mukavasti alkaa päibä. Pesin kahdet kalsarit aikaa kuluttaakseni vaikka Barin kämpässä on kyllä pesukonekin. Kiva päästä matkatunnelmaan. Hieman on viileää, laitoin lämmityksen 18C ihan vaan ekologisuuttani. Ihmeen hyvin sitä näin yksinkin kestää itseään.
Menot:
- aamiainen 12
- kahvi 3
Bonjour! C’est Freddie ici et Bärnilla aussi. We had croque monsieur for breakfast even though it is not vegetarian at all. It gave us lots of energy to visit the Norte Dame of Strasbourg and other places, even Germany by tram. Yes, one can take a tram to Germany and back from here. No border control at all.
The cathedral is huge, much bigger anything Mr Trump can even dream of. It made us think how building something for 300 years required different understanding of time, of future, and the place and fate of us all in time. It seems that we have lost that, we live only in moment, as atomic individuals. We could learn a lot of the builders of cathedrals.
We also saw newer huge buildings, ones many associate with the DDR and Soviet Union. But it was from France these huge concrete buildings originated. And then they were adopted by Eastern block architects when visiting Finland. Impressive buildings.
And then we visited Germany by tram. Trams have large windows here, they are full of light. And they are not warm.
Later we will visit a brewery or a brasserie.
Hello! It is Bärnilla with Freddie here in Strasberg, France. This place looks like German towns Freddie visited in September. Fachwerkhäuser, he calls them. Even food is Sauerkraut und Wurst! So strange. Maybe there have been some Germans here.
The local cathedral from the 11th to 13th centuries is impressive. We shall visit it tomorrow. The sign by the door say that dogs are not welcome, we hope some furry teddies are.
It is very cold, zero degrees and high humidity. But locals are cycling with smiles and mittens. There is a large area without cars for cyclists, tourists and local pedestrians. So nice.
In the Gallimard bookstore we found an interesting book. It claims that not doing anything is good for the brain and increases creativity and may even cause longevity. Doing nothing is not easy for the big, red bearded traveler who carries us around. We hope he reads the book and learns how not to fiddle his mobile machine all the time.
Ja sitten mökkiin. S menossa huomenan Kouvolaan vakuutamaan Seppoa. että tarttisi olla sairaalassa. Sirpa ihan uuvuksissa. Omahoitajuus on kovaa hommaa, ei saa unta.
Huomenna Milanoon. Tänne voisin tulla toistekin.
