It is very wise to ride a bicycle to work:
”We found that cycling to work was associated with a 41% lower risk of dying overall compared to commuting by car or public transport. Cycle commuters had a 52% lower risk of dying from heart disease and a 40% lower risk of dying from cancer. They also had 46% lower risk of developing heart disease and a 45% lower risk of developing cancer at all.”

Kokemukseni mukaan vaijerilevyjarrut ovat kyllä ihan turha keksintö. Koko ajan saa olla säätämässä ja silti vähän väliä jarruteho katoaa tyystin.

Leppoisa 125 km pyöräily hyvässä seurassa. Lenkkiosuuden keskinopeus 28km/h, ihan rentoa pk-pyörittelyä. Kunto on suht OK.

Oon muuten yllättäen nyt 8000km/vuosi vauhdissa - vaikka maaliskuu meni sairastaessa. Ja nyt pyöräily vasta alkaa. 10000km on yhä mahdollista tänäkin vuonna.

Onpas ollut kiva päivä. Rento aamu, sitten 40km Immersby etc kautta Boxin majataloon kahville. Sirkku saapui hetken päästä suorempaa reittiä. Kahville SSS Paviljongiin Spjutsundiin.
takaisin Boxin, Gesterbyn, Söderkullan, Sotungin, Kuninkaanmäen ja Mellunmäen kautta. Ulkoilua liki 7 tuntia, josta pyöräilyä vajaat 5 ja 115km, josta yhdessä Sirkun kanssa 75km. Sirkku pyöräili 103km.
Tämmöisiä sunnuntaita lisää. Vaikka joka viikko.

Mulla on kyllä ihan huippukiva duuni. Just sitä mitä tykkään ja osaan tehdä, yhteiskunnalisesti merkittävää tekemistä, kivat ja fiksut kollegat, rento meininki, työnantaja ja erityisesti pomo joka pitää hyvää huolta jaksamisestani ja osaamisestani ja käskee ulos aurinkoon klo 17, toimisto Kampissa, riittävästi työmatkoja ulkomaille, omiin tarpeisiini riittävä palkka ja ilmaiset banaanit.
Paras työpaikkani tähän asti vaikkei aiemmissakaan ole isoja vikoja ollut.

Kuulin eilen, että on olemassa työehtosopimus, jonka mukaan loma on 8 viikkoa, jos on ollut kunta-alalla töissä 20 vuotta. Jos on ollut yksityisellä alalla, saa vaan 5 viikkoa.
Tähän on kaksi mahdollista selitystä. Joko kunta-alan työkokemus nostaa tuottavuutta (arvon tuottamista asiakkaalle) enemmän kuin yksityisen alan. Tai sitten kunta-alan työkokemus väsyttää niin paljon, että 20 vuoden jälkeen ei vaan jaksa loppuunpalamatta yhtä paljon kuin yksityisillä työskentely.
Noin yleisesti pidän työuran pituuteen liittyviä etuja huonona ideana. En ymmärrä miksi työnantajat ovat ikinä sellaisiin suostuneet.

Totesin, että oon niin vanha, etten enää kilpaile kenenkään kanssa mistään tai missään lajissa. Enkä pyri rakentamaan uraa tms. Otan vaan rennosti, teen työni kykyjeni mukaan, syön banaaneita, pyöräilen sen verran kuin on kivaa eli paljon ja vietän aikaani Sirkkun
ja ystävieni kanssa. Ja luen hyvää kirjallisuutta niin paljon kuin ehdin.

Jos voittaisin paljon rahaa Lotossa tms, niin en kyllä keksisi mitään erityistä tapaa miten raha tekisi minut onnellisemmaksi. Tai elämäni paremmaksi.
Toki voisin pitää enemmän palkatonta lomaa, mutta niin voisin nytkin. Syödä en voisi enempää, en juoda, en lukea kirjoja. Eikä rikkaan pyörä kulje sen nopeammin kuin vähemmän varakkaan. Enkä keksi mitä tekisin isommalla asunnolla. 63m^2 riittää kahdelle ja kirjoille.
