Lepopäivän aamu Burgosissa. Pääskyset kirskuvat, kyyhkyset kujertavat. Kaupunki on muuten hiljainen, ravintola ja kahvilat eivät liene auenneet. Sää on mielyttävä: 13C, tyven. Illaksi on luvassa 24 astetta.
Täältä on 481 kilometriä Santiago de Compostelaan. Ensimmäisen etapin määränpääksi valitsin Carrion de los Condesin. Sinne on melko tasaista maastoa 84 kilometriä.
Selkäni on kipeytynyt ylenmääräisestä pyöräilystä. Luultavasti selkäni on erityisesti kipeytynyt Froomen tyyliin jatkuvasta Garminin tsekkailusta. Olen huomannut pyöristäväni alaselkääni katsoessani Garminia. Parempi olisi pitää selkä hyvässä suorahkossa ja normaalissa pyöräilyäsennossa ja liikuttaa selän sijaan silmiä. Testasin sitä eilen ja selkäni oli illalla jo hieman parempi.
Noin muutoinkin olisi fiksua venytellä enemmän ja tehdä core-harjoituksia. Vaikka aamulla ja illalla 5-10 minuuttia samoihin aikoihin hammashuollon kanssa. Selkä on ihan yhtä tärkeä kuin hampaat.
Matkaa perille vajaat 1100km, huomisesta aikaa 16 päivää, mikä tekee 69km päivässä. Tähän mennessä olen pyöräillyt 2240km 25 päivässä eli 90km päivässä lepopäivät mukaan laskettuna. Koska kuntoni on noussut, uskon ehtiväni Lissaboniin Sirkun kanssa treffeille 22.6. illaksi.
Tänään vierailen muutamassa kirkossa. Muutoin lepäilen ja istun kahviloissa.

Despite two rest days, I cycled about 700km last week. It was a good week of cycling, rest, adventures and random meetings. Even found time for beer and coffee!
38 hours of cycling and walking. Full work week!

Nothing much happened today, but maybe something worth mentioning.
In the morning, after I had taken my morning naps after breakfast, I went to see all sides of the impressive cathedral. On the way there, I happened pass by the pilgrim hostel. There were dozens of pilgrims, some sitting in the street, some drinking beer in a bar opposite to the hostel. A group of pilgrims were barefoot and expertly comparing each other’s blisters. Some blisters were indeed quite a sight.
I visited the cathedral open for worship. Photography was strictly forbidden. I did not buy ticket to the tourist tour of the cathedral, I just did wanted to be outdoors.
Burgos is famous for its parks. I visited one by a river and had coffee. Nice trees, people strolling.
Later, I spent time in my room napping, listening to the sounds of restaurants below and fragments of pedestrians’ discussions. So relaxing.
Did you know that mobile data costs 3€/GB? And that a stamp for a postcard costs 1.65€? Now you do. I find stamps expensive.
I did some route planning. Tomorrow I will ride 84km with only 500m ascent. It should be easy. The day after I will ride 97km with 400m to Leon. And then some 110km and 1400m to Ponferrada.
At the moment I’m drinking beer outdoors in a terrace. A pigeon walks around looking for something to eat. A minute ago it tried my toe, but found it inedible.
