Ponferrada heräilee lauantaihin. Kaksi pyöräilijää on lähdössä matkaan, mies siivoaa kahvilan terasssia, ukkonen lähestyy. Mitenköhän pyöräilijät ukkoseen lähtivät?
Lepo on vahva lääke. Nukuin pitkästä aikaa yli 8 tuntia. Yön aikana selkäni on toipunut. Ensimmäistä kertaa pariin viikkoon pääsen sänkyyn ja sängystä kuten aina ennenkin, kivutta ja ketterästi. Niin ja yöllä ennen nukkumaan menoa lepopulssini oli melko tavanomaiset 51.
Kun vielä kaksi yötä ja päivää lepään, olen varmasti entistä ehompi. Kuntoni ainakin on noussut, sillä sehän nousee levossa ja laskee pyöräillessä. Nyt se on siis pääosin laskenut matkani aikana.
Päivän ohjelmaan ilmeistyi ostosreissu: iPhonen johto katkesi puhelimen pudotessa yöllä (ks Insta storystä tarkemmin). Minulla on toinen latausjohto mukana, mutta nyt ehjiä johtoja on vain yksi, mikä on liian vähän.

Despite having followed the pilgrim route for 2000km I have not visited many churches. I do not know why. Maybe because visiting some churches cost 10€, maybe they have appeared crowded. Who knows. There are many things to do at any moment.
Today I visited the Basílica Nuestra Señora de la Encina. It is not very large, about the same size as Finnish cathedrals. Atmosphere inside was calm and solemn. Quiet music was playing, candles were alight, other pilgrims behaved respectfully. On of them came to me and asked whether I speak English and where she could get stamps to her pilgrim booklet. I could not tell.
In the past one could buy and light candles in churches. Today there is a machine which takes coins and lights led-candles for a short time. Is this progress?
I spent an hour in the church contemplating and writing my diary. Time well spent.
Otherwise I have been so happy because my back pain has eased a lot. Walking down stairs does not hurt anymore, I can get up from a chair without using my hands, I can get up from bed normally instead of some complicated acrobatics. So happy.
